We are a tuition-free, public charter school that offers students in grades K-5 the chance to excel academically and personally. Our school provides an outstanding academic curriculum, character education and individual attention to each student. Our school is accredited through AdvancED.
The Charter School of Excellence was been named a Blue Ribbon high performing school by the U.S. Department of Education in 2021.
The Charter School of Excellence has a Business and Entrepreneurship focus that gives students the opportunity to meet members of the business community and learn how different businesses are operated. CSE participates in activities through the Junior Achievement age-appropriate curriculum. This curriculum gives students of all ages the chance to learn about money-management, taxes, decision-making and how money flows in our economy.
The Charter School of Excellence offers the Junior Achievement (JA) curriculum, which focuses on basic concepts of business and economics and how education is relevant to the workplace.
All students will have business people and local community leaders visiting their classrooms to share workforce and life experiences to reinforce the Junior Achievement hands-on, age-appropriate curricula. The culminating activity for fifth graders is to visit JA BizTown where they will try out what they have learned in the the classroom for a day in their business.
Our K-5 educational program includes:
Take the School Climate and Culture Parent Survey Survey and earn 5 volunteer hours with proof of completion.
The faculty and staff of our school will be competent and caring professionals who will work as teams to teach, coach, and motivate students to learn.

The Charter School of Excellence places a high priority on student safety and campus security. CSE has always had strong security and student safety measures since it opened in 1997.
The campus has a single point of entry through locked, steel doors. Individuals are screened by security cameras before allowing entrance to the school office.
All visitors must provide state identification, which is processed for clearance through security software before being escorted to any part of the campus.
CSE is staffed with fully trained and certified Armed Guardians.
The school follows strict procedures to receive students in the morning and when they are picked up in the afternoon.
Students exit and enter through designated staffed gates. The gates are locked at all other times.
Security cameras are in place throughout the campuses.
School staff follow bus line-up procedures that account for every student boarding the buses. We know where every student is at all times.
School has comprehensive emergency procedures, evacuation plans in place, and procedures are practiced regularly.
Students and staff participate in monthly Fire and Active Assailant Drills with the support of local Law Enforcement.
The Safety Patrol Program encourages a safe environment and provides leadership opportunities for children. The CSE Safety Patrol Program is exclusive to third-grade students. The program allows students to exhibit citizenship and responsibility and is an extension of the school's Character Education Program. School Safety Patrols need to be honest, considerate, and responsible students.
Students are rotated monthly to allow everyone to have an opportunity. Parent permission is required to participate.
